Key Accomplishments

  • Managed media and secured high-level national coverage for three North American tours (2012-2013) that brought the team to the US and Canada, including marquee friendlies against Liverpool FC at Fenway Park and Chelsea FC in Washington DC, as well as Winter Training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World.
  • Managed US press conference, broadcast live in Rome, to announce new stadium construction plans and call for global sponsorship.

Foxwoods Resort & Casino

Scope of Work

Agency of record for sports and entertainment initiatives. There were three core objectives to our partnership:

  1. Develop a long term strategy and detailed activation plan to ensure full utilization of all sponsorship assets.
  2. Optimize each partnership moving forward to ensure it aligns with the core Foxwoods objective in each market, whether that be driving awareness/adoption, conversion, or retention via the most efficient and logical media avenues.
  3. Foster cross-departmental and cross-discipline alignment internally at Foxwoods to drive higher ROI.

Key Accomplishments

  • Developed and executed highly successful integrated media and on-site campaign with MSG, including the groundbreaking "Foxwoods Final Five".
  • Developed and executed both the original Red Sox (and related TV and radio deals) marketing strategy and this year's renegotiation which elevated Foxwoods brand to the center of the iconic Green Monster left field wall.
  • Conceived and activated the Foxwoods Lounge presence in the Barclay's Center.
  • Designed and developed ticket and sponsorship asset management system and protocols to enable cross-departmental communication and optimize asset utilization against key business objectives.

Putnam Investments

Agency of record for sports and entertainment initiatives and one of amm's singular client success stories. Starting with a blank sheet of paper and the directive to help elevate the Putnam brand and enhance in-market sales efforts, we worked with senior management to develop an initial underlying strategy focusing on golf, skiing and the NFL. amm currently manages all activation of all current partnerships ranging from athletes such as PGA Champion Keegan Bradley, Two time gold medalist, Ted Ligety; and teams such as the New England Patriots and the US Ski & Snowboard Teams, and other events and strategic initiatives in the space.

Key Accomplishments

  • Generated over 20X ROI on certain key sports marketing programs / initiatives.
  • Developed award-winning Sochi marketing and advertising campaign to leverage both the build up to the event as well as the in-event success of Putnam's partners.

Fireman Capital Partners

Fireman Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in some of the world's most dynamic retail brands, and Audemars Piguet, the world-renowned luxury watch manufacturer, wanted to create a series of events to thank top investors in two large markets, Boston and New York. amm devised and executed two golf tournaments and both companies rewarded their top investors with the opportunity to play a round of golf with AP Brand Ambassadors and professionals such as Rory McIlroy, Vijay Singh, Cristie Kerr, Rocco Mediate, Ian Poulter, and Anthony Kim.

The Boston Investor Event took place at the prestigious Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee, MA and featured a Cape Cod Clambake, while the New York based event occurred at the elite Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City and was highlighted by the launch of the AP Royal Oak Offshore 44M. Both events included a golf tournament, cocktail reception, dinner and awards ceremony.

In 2012, Boston Red Sox All-Star pitcher Jon Lester launched the NVRQT Campaign in conjunction with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF). NVRQT is the rally cry, cause and mantra in the fight against pediatric cancer. amm supports the campaign through a series of programs including a press launch, NVRQT Day at Fenway Park, social media campaigns, and NVRQT merchandise, as well as the creation and execution of their signature fundraiser, NVRQT Night with Jon and Farrah Lester.

amm created NVRQT Night, a signature fundraising event focused around a Hollywood Squares style game show “Three Up Three Down” featuring celebrities and athletes. This annual event is held at the House of Blues and includes a VIP cocktail reception, brief speaking presentation, on-site auctions and live entertainment. The format of the event allows for candid player interaction which provides guests unique insight into the true personalities of the athletes not captured in a post-game interview.

The NVRQT Campaign provides PCRF with multiple touch points with their sponsors, significant regional and national media attention as well as a unique and replicable fundraising event in Boston and other markets.

Aaron Sells

CEO, Managing Partner, Business Development

As the catalyst of business development, Aaron is the driving force behind amm's objectives and long term goals. After a successful career working on both the team and agency sides of marketing management, Aaron recognized the need for a bold change in the marketplace, and founded amm as a place where talented individuals work tirelessly for their clients.

Prior to amm, Aaron served as President of TrinityOne Worldwide, a sports and entertainment marketing company specializing in maximizing revenue generation and brand awareness for sports teams, athletes and companies. He assisted in the acquisition of Millwall FC, where he overhauled the entire marketing department and developed and executed a new marketing strategy and operational structure for data tracking and sponsorship. During his tenure with the London-based football club, Millwall was promoted to the Champion's League. Additionally, Aaron consulted on the creation of Dubai Sports City, where his expertise was used to develop the concept, layout, sponsorship opportunities, and marketing for one of the world's premier sporting destinations.

Before TrinityOne, Aaron served as a corporate sales and marketing executive for the New England Patriots, New England Revolution and Gillette Stadium. Among his accomplishments is the selling and negotiating of naming rights for the Patriots practice facility, the Dana Farber Field House. Aaron also created, sold and negotiated corporate sponsorship packages including broadcast, entertainment, signage and hospitality elements with some of the nation's most well-respected brands and companies. During his career in sales and marketing with the Patriots and Revolution, Aaron oversaw a sales increase of over 200%.

Aaron has been named one of "30 Extraordinary Bostonians" for his charitable endeavors. He serves on the Board of Trustees for The Governor's Academy, and the Board of Directors for both Boston Gives and Morgan's Fund, a charity focusing on youth violence prevention. Aaron is a graduate of The Governor's Academy, a former captain of the Bates College men's lacrosse team, and is a decorated U.S. Army veteran.

John Ivey

Managing Partner, Consulting

The first rule of all amm consulting engagements is "listen, learn, act." As head of amm's consulting group, John has been responsible for devising and executing amm's proven client-centric model, noting that "we're here to build your brand, not ours." John and the amm team have developed highly differentiating marketing strategies for financial services leaders such as Putnam Investments, Sun Life Financial, Webster Bank, and Liberty Bay Credit Union; consumer product launches for the luxury vodka - Double Cross, innovative snack foods like Pop Chips and Unreal Candy, and numerous other premier brands like Titleist, Hudson Jeans and many more.

John came to amm as a nationally recognized sports & entertainment marketing executive and corporate strategist. And he has continued to work at the leading edge of marketing technology and practices, previously developing some of the most successful national sports and entertainment marketing campaigns for companies such as Diageo, John Hancock, Procter & Gamble, Eddie Bauer, TJ Maxx, Calvin Klein, and many other industry leaders across array of sectors. John brings experience and relationships across platforms ranging from the Olympic Games to professional sports, to NASCAR, Broadway, and Hollywood. Overall, he has been associated with the development of over $200,000,000 in sponsorships and integrated media partnerships throughout his career.

John has helped clients ranging from start-ups to large holding companies on acquisitions and operating strategy, and has financed and/or helped produced TV shows for ESPN, PBS, NBC, and other networks; as well as helping source financing and market theatrical shows that have toured nationally and have played on Broadway. John received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, and his Master's of Science degree from the London School of Economics.

Christopher Burns, CPA

Chief Operating Officer / Chief Financial Officer

Chris joined amm in 2014 as our Chief Operating Officer and brings over 25 years of financial and operational experience to the team. Prior to joining amm, Chris was the Chief Financial Officer of Crowe Paradis Services, a medicare services firm. During his tenure, the company was ranked #255 on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies, and soon thereafter was sold to a large publicly traded insurance services firm. With a proven track record of maximizing sales and corporate profitability by partnering with sales and operations, Chris has participated in a number of successful public offerings, acquisitions, and shareholder exits.

Chris holds a Bachelor's in Accountancy and an MBA from Bentley University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Nick Gregorian

Senior Marketing Director

Nick is responsible for managing amm's consulting practice and is focused on helping our clients, plan, negotiate, activate, and measure their different sports and entertainment marketing strategies. Having brokered numerous media, sports, and entertainment sponsorships across an array of mediums, Nick and his team strive to create unique partnerships with clearly defined success metrics, in an effort to most accurately demonstrate return on investment. Additionally, Nick represents the marketing and philanthropic interests of Major League pitcher, Jon Lester, and works with amm's Managing Partners to identify and secure new revenue generating opportunities for amm.

Nick started his career working for Puma North America where he coordinated athlete and performance sports marketing. At Puma, Nick was responsible for competitive research and analysis as well as servicing the various athletes endorsed by Puma. In 2005 Nick joined the Corporate Partnerships department for the Boston Red Sox as the Special Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Nick had dual responsibilities between Fenway Sports Group and the Red Sox, working on various special projects, client service, and selling corporate partnerships. After winning a World Series in 2007, Nick was tapped to run FSG's first ever pro beach volleyball event. Due to the enormous success of the event Nick was then tasked with integrated sponsorship sales across all of FSG's properties. Soon thereafter Nick was assigned the New England territory for MLB.com (Major League Baseball Advanced Media) where he ran up the region's digital media efforts and managed all agency relationships.

Nick is a graduate of The College of Charleston in South Carolina.

Valerie Salvatore

Senior Director of Events

Valerie is the Senior Director of Events for amm and has 15 years experience in event management and marketing. She is the strategist behind many successful, high-profile event campaigns including events for John Legend, Jon Lester, Mark Wahlberg, luxury brands and corporate clients such as Audemars Piguet, David Yurman and Fireman Capital Partners. She has also developed and managed philanthropic platforms and events for athletes including Nomar Garciaparra, Paul Pierce and Annika Sorenstam. Under Governor Mitt Romney, Valerie served as the Executive Director for the Massachusetts Governor's Committee on Physical Fitness & Sports. Prior to joining amm, Val worked as the Event Manager for Life is good Festivals nationally, where she lead in-market management, event logistics and sponsor integration. Valerie is a graduate of Boston College.

Ameliaranne Sutton

Director of Communications

Amelia Sutton joined amm in 2012, and leads the agency's communications practice, planning and executing public relations campaigns for a diverse roster of best-in-class clients that range from top Boston restaurants and celebrity chefs, to athlete foundations and events, to an international soccer team and a NASCAR track in New Hampshire. She brings over eight years of experience in the media industry as both a publicist and a writer.

Since taking on the role of Director of Communications at amm, Amelia has managed a North American press tour for Italian soccer giant AS Roma, opened several new restaurants in Massachusetts to critical praise, and secured local and national recognition for a number of athletes' charitable efforts.

Prior to amm, Amelia managed a portfolio of accounts for marlo marketing/communications, a public relations and marketing agency in Boston. For nearly four years, Amelia worked with a variety of hospitality clients, including hotels, destinations, travel websites, non-profit organizations, and some of the city's best chefs and restaurants. An experienced practitioner of both blogger and traditional media relations, Amelia secured top-tier local, regional, and national coverage for her clients in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Food & Wine, Mashable, NPR, Saveur, Esquire, GQ, and Forbes.com, and BonAppetit.com. In addition to media relations, Amelia planned and executed strategic public relations campaigns and restaurant openings, managed social media profiles, and developed website content for her clients.

Amelia graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a bachelor's degree in English.
